Looking for new tires for my stock 20" wheels. Going to be running them in the winter so I want an at that is winter rated.

Narrowed it down to a few tires

Goodyear duratrac
Kanati trail hog (duratrac knockoff)
Bfg ko 2
General grabber at2

Any others I should look at?

Do you think I need a 10 ply LT tire? We see some pretty extreme temperatures (-30*F) and I tow pretty often in the winter. A 6,000 pound loaded enclosed snowmobile trailer. Plus a 500 pound sled in the bed of the truck sometimes

Difference in price between a 275 60 20 and LT 285 60 20 duratrac is around $90 a tire so if I don't need the heavier tire I might stick with stock size. Plus the stock width would be better in the snow than going wider

Thanks for any advice on these or other tires

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you want to keep your factory 20's on year round? I simply bought some Mopar 18" steelies and bought the snow tires for those.

It was a lot cheaper to buy 18" snows vs 20" snows.

The steelies were only about $55 each.

Feel like going for a road trip across the border? The Cooper AT-W (snowflake rating) are only about $200CDN each at Canadian Tire on sale right now.

Running the KO2. No snow yet, but having the mountain rating and reviews make me feel confident.

Duratracs, I have 275/65R20. They perform well up here for our Canadian winters, definitely the most popular tire in my area. It helps that they go on sale quite often at Canadian Tire.

Thanks guys I might have to go over and check out Canadian tire. I'm only 15 minutes from the border probably a 30 minute drive total to Canadian tire.

I am going to do the same thing. The stock wheels are that plastic chrome stuff and I don't care if they get trashed. I am getting some nice wheels for the summer. I had some Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice tires on my 06 with 17s. Those tires were unbelievable. I am bummed that they don't make them for 20s.

I also have different wheels and tires for summer months. I run the stock 20's and Hankook Ipike snow tires in the winter.

How is the road noise with the Goodyear Duratracs?

I'm a fan of coopers-
I have a set of atp"s on ATM cause they where on sale and so far they do just fine- I've thrown every weather/road condition u can think of - from -20F with black ice to 125F melting pavement with everything in between.
