Hi guys,

had my 2008 5.7 4x4 1500 for a LPG tank swap/ new tires at a little shop here in germany.

Following has happened: truck wont start, sounded and acted like a bad battery (Basically tried to crank but couldnt turn over).
They've tried a new battery, checked all grounds, starter is okay, jumpstart wont help, starter turns and engine turns as well.
still no change, wont start.

They and I guess it might be the PCM or crank position sensor? Any ideas?

If it is the PCM, does it be coded by vin (isolated) or do I have to build it in first in order to flash the system? Any chance to get restart it?

Weird thing is, no trouble codes at all...

Truck has been flooded a year ago, waist deep water crossing. engine didnt survive, new engine in an 15000 km since then, no worries at all.

Cheers, best from germany - fred

LPG tank swap hasnt been done yet, only tire change. ran fine before.

Might be sth w/ the TIPM, I'll check that later

With the key in the run position can you “jump” the starter with a screwdriver to 12 volt post and solenoid spade terminal of the starter?

No connection to gearbox - therefore, no starting process at all. Have to check connectors on top of transmission, then maybe change the gearbox computer...

Not the TIPM - getting the P0750 and P0706 - along with the PRNDL all lit up. So the Tranny Solenoid Switch or any cables. Connected AlfaOBD and cant get any connection to the transmission. What do you guys think: defectice Solenoid or just a broken cable? From what I see, the cables are allright, at least all connected to the plug...

Dropping the tranny pan, removing the solenoid and checking it has to be the next step or am I wrong?

Took off the pan, swopped the solenoid, new oil, everything back together - still P0706. Checked cables, all good.

IDEAS?

Mine just did this. Started fine when I left work today (Thanksgiving) stopped at dollar general 1 miles down the road from work came out after 15 minutes and would start. Truck kept turning over and over without engine turning on, So strange. Like a wire isn't connecting or its stuck. I'm hoping it isn't the fuel pump. Any ideas? Battery is in good shape so it's not that and had a few people bang on fuel tank while I tried to start without luck.

Not to hijack the OP's thread but can you hear the fuel pump when you cycle the key? You should hear the pump run for 3-5 seconds when you turn the key on to the "RUN" position. If you do not hear the pump running it could be a failed fuel pump or a failed TIPM as the fuel pump relay is built in to the printed circuit board of the TIPM.

First thing to do though is check to see if you have spark from the ignition coils. Remove a coil that's easy to reach, stick a screwdriver in one of the boots and hold the screwdriver close to a ground and have an assistant crank the engine. If you do not have spark from the ignition coils it could mean a failed crank position sensor. If you do have spark then move on to fuel.

Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the port on the fuel rail and verify if you have proper fuel pressure.

I am having the same problem with my 04 1500. I popped the fuel rail and nothing came out. My mechanic told me to tap the tank with a rubber mallet to see if I can get a one time turn over he said If not then its a bad pump. Going to take it to him if the mallet trick doesnt work and see what mess he can find and ill post back after he finds the problem. Any other tricks are welcome. I dont have many tools to do the proper tests nor the knowledge so anything right now will help me out. Thanks!
