Truck goes in this morning to have the system installed. I have the Alpine system but that just was not cutting it.
Having them deaden all the doors and the back wall. I'll worry about doing the floor later if it seems like I need to.
Going to keep the factory head unit and run into an Audio Control DQ-61. From there it will be summed and then split to a Zapco Z-150.6 and a Zapco Z-1KD.
I'm running Hertz Hi Energy 3 ways (HSK163) in the front. Tweeters in the sail panels with mids in the dash and midbass in the doors. They will be biamped with 150w per side to the mids and tweets and 150w to each midbass.
Rear doors will have the Hi Energy 6.5" coaxials (HCX165) with 150w per door.
Going with a JL 12W6V3 under the rear passenger seat in a Net Audio tall enclosure running at about 560w.
I can't wait to hear it when it's done. In my last two vehicles (300 SRT8 and a 4Runner) I just kept the factory systems so it's been years since I've had a nice stereo in a vehicle. My last truck had an amazing system (Tru Copper Tube Amps and Dynaudio 3 Ways) so I really miss good sound.
Let the fun begin (and the wallet weep)!
