Truck goes in this morning to have the system installed. I have the Alpine system but that just was not cutting it.

Having them deaden all the doors and the back wall. I'll worry about doing the floor later if it seems like I need to.

Going to keep the factory head unit and run into an Audio Control DQ-61. From there it will be summed and then split to a Zapco Z-150.6 and a Zapco Z-1KD.

I'm running Hertz Hi Energy 3 ways (HSK163) in the front. Tweeters in the sail panels with mids in the dash and midbass in the doors. They will be biamped with 150w per side to the mids and tweets and 150w to each midbass.

Rear doors will have the Hi Energy 6.5" coaxials (HCX165) with 150w per door.

Going with a JL 12W6V3 under the rear passenger seat in a Net Audio tall enclosure running at about 560w.

I can't wait to hear it when it's done. In my last two vehicles (300 SRT8 and a 4Runner) I just kept the factory systems so it's been years since I've had a nice stereo in a vehicle. My last truck had an amazing system (Tru Copper Tube Amps and Dynaudio 3 Ways) so I really miss good sound.

Let the fun begin (and the wallet weep)!

Wow impressive list of equipment there. One thing to be aware of is you can't pull signal from the factory HU with Alpine system and it has to be done at the amp. I can't wait to here your impressions as I love the look of the zapco amps and the sound of the W6.

Thanks, yeah I know about having to pull signal after the amp (why they don't include some simple RCAs at the head unit escapes me). The shop doing the work, Beach Autosound in HB, CA, does a lot of high end installs and they know their stuff.

I used to run the old school Zapco Studio series in a stupidly complex 4 way active system back in the day. I wish I still had a few of those old amps laying around. I just can't wait to fire up the new system.

You are going to love it. When I added my 12" sub in a ported fox box and just 3.5" dash speakers to my base 6 speaker system it was a night and day difference. And then I added 6.5" fronts speakers and 6x9" rear speakers and it completely cleaned up the sound. And that was with the dash and doors just getting power from the stock 8.4an head unit.

Enjoy

Slight change of plans, going to go with an Audison Bit One instead of the DEQ-61. The Audio Control unit would have needed one more channel to do the summing and keep the ability to fade and time correct things.

Will take one more day but it will be so much more tuneable (is that a word?).

:)

Sweet I hope you get a trouble free unit. Are you tuning or is the shop?

Well they are fresh off the UPS truck from Audison so I'm hoping it will be trouble free. The shop will do an initial tune and then I'll tweak it from there.

Picked up the truck today. First impression is HOLY ****!

I've still got to do a good amount of tweaking to dial it in where I want it. I'll have to put together some pictures and a write up. Step one is to get the Bit One software to work in my VM.

They took pictures and my ******** forgot to get them while I was there. I'll have them emailed to me and post some up in the next couple of days.
