Would long-tubes increase interior noise?

For you guys that have added headers, particularly long tubes, did the interior noise levels increase? This question assumes you keep all the stock mufflers.

I am tempted to install a nice set of LT's, but I really love the quietness of the interior. I can hear the music real well, and talk to people. Plus, I absolutely hate interior exhaust drone.

So what's the verdict on LT's? Noisy or quiet?

Wrap the headers with header wrap, and they'll be as quiet as the stock manifolds, and it'll also help keep underhood heat down, saving wiring/hoses etc from heat degrading. The long tubes on both my truck and the wifes Challenger are ceramic coated and double wrapped, and you can put your hand on them when the engines running

Great reply, thanks! Do you have some sort of noisy aftermarket exhaust, or quiet like stock? My big pet peeve is interior drone, I just f'ing hate it. I've spent a lot of money over the years getting rid of drone, haha.

I know interior drone can be substantially reduced with a Helmholtz Resonator, but I don't want to get into it that deep. I always just keep switching pipes and mufflers until the drone is gone.

My truck gives Hellcats fits at the track, the stock exhaust exited the chatroom many years ago, lol. My exhaust system is wrapped from the headers right back to the X pipe and mufflers.I use the mufflers as a poor mans expansion chamber. I do have to replace the magnaflow mufflers about every 2 years as they burn out fast with everything wrapped ahead of them ;) I have no drone, and that might have something to do with having the exhaust wrapped to the mufflers
