The y pipe should not void your warranty unless you have a **** of a dealer. Even then, by law the Y pipe should not void your warranty.

Should you ever have anything fail on the truck, it is up to the dealer to prove that an aftermarket part is what caused the failure. A y pipe would not cause this.

As far as possibly voiding my warranty, I'm not really worried about it. I don't see any scenario where the long tubes would cause any damage to anything.

Has anyone actually seen benefits from it? Or is it mostly minor exhaust outflow increase?

Some people say a slight increase in throttle response, some say a subtle difference in noise. Haven't done it so can't say first hand.

My dealers parts guy is telling me all of this basically scaring me into believing the most that I can get away with is a conservative muffler and air intake

he believes that because the truck sounds and performs better I'm going to stomp the pedal more thus straining the engine

he doesnt even want to lower my truck because he claims it'll restrict warranty
