The lengths are different. 4th gens are shorter. Mounts line up.Are 5th gen strut assemblies interchangeable with 4th gen?
Im replacing my Bilstein 5100’s and have access to a set of 5th gen take-offs. I was going to disassemble and build my strut ahead of time. Thats my angle on this. The lengths are different. 4th gens are shorter. Mounts line up.
I think the 5th gen are an inch longer? So you would set to an inch lower lift than you want I think.Im replacing my Bilstein 5100’s and have access to a set of 5th gen take-offs. I was going to disassemble and build my strut ahead of time. Thats my angle on this.
I was just going to use the parts on the new 5100’s. Toss the oem strut.I think the 5th gen are an inch longer? So you would set to an inch lower lift than you want I think.
Lemme see if I can find the link for the 1 inch part.
They are 1/2” taller than the Icon’s for a 4th Gen. The real kicker…$185 versus $300.why the gladiator springs?
How do they ride compared to OEM? How do they handle weight? I'd like to get rid of my spacers and go with a coil. I'm running stock coils with 1.5" spacers currently. They are 1/2” taller than the Icon’s for a 4th Gen. The real kicker…$185 versus $300.
There a tad softer ride, but it may be because they are multi-stage. They handle pot holes well. I am going to upgrade my rear control arms and shocks I think. My rear 0-2” are definitely at the 2” lol.How do they ride compared to OEM? How do they handle weight? I'd like to get rid of my spacers and go with a coil. Its like having a donor organ I guess.Interesting... do you have to wave at jeeps now?
I think it looks great as is. I prefer to have a bit of a rake than being perfectly level. I'm intrigued by going this route, might be something I look into. There a tad softer ride, but it may be because they are multi-stage. They handle pot holes well. With the Icon JT’s and a 1.5” body lift with brand new 35’s (like an hour ago) the rear is 43” from wheelwell to ground.
Front is 2.8 Bilsteins and is 42”. I have a Wulf 1/4” spacer plate that would get me another 1/2”. Not sure I need it looks pretty nice now. Thoughts?

I was so concerned these tires would make it look “stuffed”. Doesnt look like that at all.I think it looks great as is. I prefer to have a bit of a rake than being perfectly level. I'm intrigued by going this route, might be something I look into.
