So I've been chasing this problem down for a while now and I think k I may have found it but a second opinion would be nice.
When I got this truck there was about half throttle play in the throttle cable. I fixed it and in the process seemed to over tighten the TV cable because a full throttle the truck wouldn't shift and would bounce off the Rev limiter at 80 I stead of shifting at 75 like it does now. Well I've also noticed that at 60-75mph the Torque converter will lock/unlock. It doesn't do it before 60 or after 75. So I can cruise smoothly at 80mph. I've replaced and even checked the new TPS which is smooth in voltage.
Another issue I have is when driving it will shift hard and lurch forward when going into the next gear. More noticeably into OD while getting on the highway.
So at this point I'm wondering if all this isn't just the TV cable being too tight still. I haven't adjusted it yet but after adjusting the play in the throttle cable I'm thinking that the TV cable needs readjusting.
Edit: Whoops, completely forgot. It's a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L with about 119,500 miles on it.
