What are some thinks I can change to make the old truck a little more reliable. Like new starter and odd and end things like that. Not really going for horse power or efi. Just things that can help it

Hotter plugs & wires, new distributor, CAI, bigger throttle body, true duals - all of those are bolt-on mods, that will net you another 25 HP or more, without getting into any internal work. :waytogo:

these trucks are usually only as reliable as the guy maintaining them. the old style starters are reliable but the newer ones are smaller and easier to remove.

unless you plan on completely rewiring the entire thing it can be nearly impossible to say what might be your next issue. usually with these old things most issues are usually electrical. my truck would be an electrical nightmare for anyone other than myself

92 model only exhaust manifolds & Y-pipe with 3" exhaust will help power & MPG
If you have a 904 trans you will need a trans dipstick tube from an A500 92up
727 from an A518 92up
Grab the deeper pan off the trans too & get the filter to match up at the parts store
The extra fluid helps keep the trans cooler The pan needs to be 94-5up
The larger cooler lines from that OD trans will help also 91-93 truck or van
You may can score a set for use with a trans cooler
