Hey guys, wanted to share with you my project and history with Dodge/Ram vehicules

In 2008, purchased a Dakota. Loved that truck, mean as hell and really nice ride for a mid size. Kept it pretty stock

It would burn some rubber too ;-)

I then traded in my Dakota as my wife was pregnant and we were looking a family vehicule. Got rid of all my toys, boat, atv and truck.

We went ahead and bought 2011 Journey Crew.

We then had a second child and were running low on room. Decided to trade the Journey for a Ram. Bought the truck on September 26th 2013 from Capital Dodge in Ottawa.

Here are the mods I have done so far.

Installed a Truxedo Lo Pro QT tonneau cover

No pics of the tonneau cover yet

Got a K&N drop in air filter as well

null_zps68a01d70.jpg

Got some Weather Tech mats for 50$ for the whole set, was kind of a mistake offer to a guy selling his set on Kijiji and ended up paying off. Offered 40$ (typo) instead of 140$ and he replied that he didn't think that he would go as low as 40$ and that he would accept 50$ lol! Full set too, including the rear.

Bought some LED license plate lights as well

After: 520e8e142d2130de5b52719e3f50d61d.jpg

Got some lamin-x headlight protection yellow film. Installed it on the fogs.

Looks like it was a long trip to get here but you're in a much better place now. Sport is the only way to go! You going to plasti-dip the grill slats too?

Yeah, it was quite the Journey lol!

For the grill slats, I tried to find a photo of one that had it done but couldn't find one. I thought it was a good idea but wanted to see a result before doing it.

Do you have any pictures with one done?

Just run a strip of electrical tape over the grill slats, easy way to see what it'll look like.

Nice truck!

I'm curious how the sport would look with the slats painted body color, but I wasn't brave enough to try it. ;)

Easy to do for the front emblem. It's two pieces. Only drawback is they're sort of riveted together so you have to drill out several spots on the back to get them apart and then find some way to bind them back together after they're painted. I used 3M tape which seems to be holding fine.

Tail gate emblem is a different story. It's all one piece. You can hand-paint it if you're good at that sort of thing or pay someone to do it. Retro Shop does it. (See their forum down in the vendor section.)

Cheap ass bulbs from ebay, paid 4$ for 5 bulbs.

Work like a charm but they do give out a message. I heard you can weld an additional resistor to prevent the message from showing
