I will likely be trading in my Jeep Patriot for a used 2011 Ram 1500 , it has the 5.7 Hemi and about 72,300 miles on it....I am pretty new to trucks and still have to give the truck in question a once over before pulling the trigger, but what is considered high mileage for a ram 1500? I drive anywhere from 18,000 to 21,000 miles a year 80% hwy), and would like to have the truck for at least 4 years if not longer. Any help would be appreciated! Been wanting a truck for years!

There's a couple guys on here with close to 200k on their 5.7's.

One I believe is a 2011.

That's a hard question.... All about how those 72k were driven and how it was maintained..... Could last another 150k if it was maintained right

Is the truck at a Mopar dealer, if so ask if the service records are available.

It will be fine. Check for records, check the oil pressure, run synthetic and a good filter, and maintain it.

Yeah it's at one of the Dodge/Chrysler/Ram dealers, having the father in law look it over as well (he's a big truck guy), will definitely ask about the service records, they were asking $18,988, and have apparently come down a bit more, though I'm not sure how much more.... supposedly it's enough for us not to have to put a down payment on the truck

I've also heard about some electrical issues? Are they pretty widespread or not so much? Again , I'm pretty new to trucks....just want to make a good purchase!

Make sure the recalls are up to date per the vin # , verify service records ....regardless of the above make an offer of 13k and 25k mile warranty bumper to bumper ... if they go for it then purchase the truck ....they did not give more than 10k for this truck ! Likely closer to 8

The ram is not prone to electrical issues any more so than other brands.

Without knowing the trim level you cannot say what it is worth?

Is the truck a Tradesman, Bighorn or a Longhorn, big difference in what those will cost.....

The truck is an SLT Quad 4X4 and going by the 2011's in your area it seems to be a fair deal, CarFax has the service history as well:

Truck - LINK

Here is a CarGuru search showing 2011's in your area - LINK

It has only been on their lot for 23 days, you may have to wait them out and take a chance if you want to deal on it.

I have a 2009 1500 4x4 Laramie. I bought it with 72K miles on it. I currently have 194,000+ on it. Supposedly I am the 3rd owner of the vehicle. It was originally in Iowa then came to TN. in that time, I have had repaired or replaced:

1. Both front hub assemblies (they were extremely corroded and one grenaded on me)
2. Re-build rear diff - once at 80K due to botched recall fix (pinion bearing). second time at 180k due to carrier bearing failure
3. broken Manifold bolts on driver side
4. replaced 1 coil pack
5. replaced one axle stub seal on front differential
6. replaced/upgraded hard drive in the radio
7. Replaced 4x4 encoder motor and assembly
8. Added some Refrigerant to the A/C system.

I did all of these repairs myself Except the Pinion bearing repair which was honored by my dealership.

I drive this beast about 40 miles one way to work and back daily. I traverse a mountain pass on the interstate during that route. I also drive it for work for business travel. It has been a pretty good truck for the most part so dont let my ******** about repairing it drown that out.
