First off I want to say I've not opened the manual. So this might be an issue I could clear up there. Don't know. I have a 13 1500 Big Horn. When I set the cruise it sets fine. If I try to bump up the speed a couple of mph by using the Res. or + button. It will kill the cruise all together. Anyone else have this issue? Whats the fix for it? It goes in the shop next week for some other stuff. Just want to have some knowledge of the cruise before I go in and ask about it. Thanks in advance.

Have it looked at when it's in next week. Mine operates exactly as you describe you thought it should work. push the + or - buttons and I speed up or slow down a couple of MPH. Maybe someone else has had this problem and knows of a quick fix, let us know what the dealership does to fix it please.

Hi Ledawg,

Pages 179-181 of your Owner's Manual talks about Electronic Speed Control (cruise control), I've attached a screenshot of the section on changing the speed using the steering wheel controls. You can download a copy of your Owner's Manual from the Knowledge Center at www.mopar.com for more information. If you are visiting your local dealership for your appointment next week I'd be happy to follow up with them for you if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know!

Thanks for the reply Andrea. See the link I have posted. This is exactly what mine is doing. Sometimes I can hit the accelerate button a couple times and it will go. But the 3rd or 4th it will shut down. I was thinking this might be some kind of safety feature. Now after reading the manual it seems to be a problem. Someone replied that there is a service bulletin on this. It this correct? Truck goes in for another issue on Tues so I would like to have this fixed as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine did this exact issue. When I took the truck to the dealer I didnt even mention the issue but the flashed the computer with an update for free while it was there and it fixed the issue!

Went to take the truck in for the cruise issues. As I'm hearding to dealership I can't get it to shut off at all. It works exactly as was designed. Typical luck of mine. Truck never acts up when you take it to dealership. Probably won't act up for them either. Frustrating!

Thats the story of my life man.

I also have issues with Cruise, but I have a 14' Tradesmen. My buddy has issues with his 13' Sport Cruise. Both similar yet different issues.

So My truck is out of warranty (Still have powertrain). If there is a "Service Bull.) for this, or anything does that mean its covered? Or just means its a known issue that they acknowledge but isn't a recall?

Well... You can explain to them that it's happening intermittently. Only because the issue doesn't happen at that particular time, it doesn't mean that it's not there. You wouldn't be there bothering them about it if there was no issue...

Ask to do a test drive together with mechanic to replicate it. I think once you make your point to them, they should be able to fix it, or flash the software as that seems like it may help. Good luck

Hi mpicc84--if there is a TSB out for something that would be covered under the basic 3/36 warranty (electrical, radio concerns, etc.), then it is covered through the time frame of the basic warranty. If the TSB addresses something powertrain, it is covered through the life of that warranty.

As one of the other members suggested, doing a ride along to make sure you can confirm the dealership tech knows what you're experiencing is the best route to go!

I had brought my 15 in a few weeks ago for cruise control issues but not as you are describing, my button did not work all the time (intermittently) and one of the things they did was reflash my computer and I was told there was an update that specifically called out issues with cruise control. Maybe this is something that will fix your problem as well. Good luck!

Since i brought it in I have not had the issue and I press it every day to make sure it works now.

I have read and watched videos from people who have your same issue. My 15 big horn has had an issue where the cruise intermittently works. Sometimes wont turn on or will turn on but then not off, or will not work at all. I dont usually adjust the speed once the cruise is on but when I do it seems to work fine "knock on wood"
I took my truck in to have them look at this issue and I lucked out as the truck acted up on the way there! So they were able to see the cruise wouldnt shut off. They also said there was two stored codes. One code for low voltage which was for the radio (another issue with my steering wheel radio buttons not working) and one code for the cruise not reading. The tech told me there were two flashes that it was due to have so they did them and it seemed to fix the issue with the cruise and my radio controls.
The radio controls are fine still "knock on wood" but the cruise has acted up just once about 2 weeks after the flashes that "fixed the issue" but it has been fine since. I even had the truck aligned and had them check for codes after I explained the truck had the cruise issue again and they said no codes were stored but it was due for another computer update...
So all in all things are good for now "knock on wood" but only time will tell. I dont wish to have issues with the truck but I would like them to appear before the warranty runs out lol. I hear also that a lot of people experiencing these cruise issues have the steering wheel controls replaced and it fixes the issue. So if it happens to me again I am going straight to the dealer and asking for them to replace the steering wheel controls.
Hope you got a fix for your issue, best of luck.
