Contact RAMCares to open a case and then have your truck hauled to a different dealership.

This.

I would not want a ****** dealer like that putting an engine in my truck.

With only 60,000 km on the truck I would be very inclined to keep it with a new motor. See how it turns out, if the new dealer does a great job and the truck runs like new I would hang on to it.

Yeah I'd be getting in touch with Ram on this one. I wouldn't want them touching my truck after that and also wouldn't want to buy one from them either.

Piston slap is not the end of the world...The GM 6.0 gasser is world famous for it's piston slap...I had 3 of them...They ALL had it...320,000+ miles combined and NEVER any internal issues...The dealer is trying to pull a fast one on YOU and FCA...Open the case like was previously said, and see what happens...

BTW...Pennzoil makes a 10w60 Ultra...See if that quiets the slap...My 6.0 had a spec oil of 5w30...I used 10w40 and the slap was still noticeable in all 3 trucks...

And it's the NDP that's ******* me over more than any ******* in Ottawa; first the 'Orange Crush' with their awesome carbon tax that just got half my maintenance department canned followed by BC's ass-hats doing everything they can to stop the Kinder-Morgan. I say we shut off the taps to BC for a few months and let them live the life without oil since that's what they want.

I feel for you man. I watch from the sidelines praying to hell we never see that "Orange Crush" in our province. I still have pains from cleaning that mess up last time. Now that I am a professional dirt scratcher- that carbon tax ******** will sink us. But, common sense was never a strong suit of the dippers.

Ran 20w50 in my 6.0 and mine was nice and quiet after that..:)

I would see if they would do it in the 2 weeks then take it to a different dealer and trade it off...lol

Sadly we do. Our Prime Minister is one of them.

Our politicians have done plenty to embarrass the crap out of us. I don't think anyone down here holds at fault any Canadian, in the end, all our power is in our one vote.

Im in ontario canada. Found out yesterday my 2013 sport with hemi needs a new motor at 60000km due to piston slap. Its all covered under warranty. Was told sept or october before they could replace motor.
So in meam time i had them give me numbers on a new truck with trade in value etc. All of a sudden they can do motor swap in 2 weeks.
Told them today im not 100 percent getting a new truck. Well guess what doing the motor swap on my 13 is contigent on me buying a new truck otherwise couple months wait.
How can they do that?
What are our opinions keep the 13 with a new motor as its almost paid for with a slew of mods, or cut my loses and get a new one?

This is unbelievable, but honestly doesn’t surprise me. Typical Stealership filled with scumbag mechanics and slimy sales reps. I hope RamdosentCare can help you, either way I would get your truck away from those people.

IMHO---They are in business to make money. We are the source of their profit. We can make the decision to be an informed buyer(as most of us are) or we can be a victim. I'm just glad we share information with each other so we're able to save as much money as possible. Just my .02----

So ram cares canada says the dealers just take the engine apart and "measure" take pictures and send it to fca canada. Fca gets to decide what they will and will not replace cause they are footing the bill. She told me as an example if fca engineers tell the only one piston is out of spec.then they only change the one piston etc. Which is completly unacceptable. I also called another dealership amd asked what they would do and got the same story. So now i dont know what to do ram cares was last resort so seems like i have no other recourse other then trading it in (sorry) but more then likely different brand.

Thats bullchit, they should drop a new motor in it or leave it alone.

I would trade it off as well.
