Plasti-dip Removal from Chrome Clads

Decided to remove the Plasti-dip from my chrome clads that I'm selling. Process wasn't too difficult and it came off pretty easily. Took 15-20 minutes per rim I'd guess.

Finished product. They look good as the day I Plasti-dipped them, about 5 months ago.

Just goes to show that it really is as easy as just pulling it off when you're tired of it or just want something different.

Thanks, I think I have a buyer lined up for tomorrow. He's even local. Figured I'll let him have them like they were stock and I'll just tell him how to Plasti-dip them if that's what he wants to do with them.

do they make a product like this for your whole car? theres an Audi around R8 that drives around here whos whole car and rims are flat black right around the winter time then back to normal when it gets warm out. im assuming hes putting something on it to protect it but it looks like plasti dip.

Wat about the 08 20's I've got on my RAM? Are the plastic dipped from the factory? I know they got some plastic covering over them, how did you remove the coating

Plasti dip is a spray on coating that he put on, and I did too.He is not talking about how the chrome part of the wheel is plastic. Its like a spray paint but a latex type so it can be removed without damaging whats underneath.

and Mike that car may have just gotten a vinyl wrap done on it.

no what you are talking about is the Chrome cladding. Plasti dip is like spray paint, but you can remove it. Personally I wouldn't remove the cladding....the wheel doesn't look as good...the holes around the lug nuts will be bigger and your center caps won't fit anymore.
