Rocker panel protection

Hey guys, just got a new black ram and i already have a few nicks on my rocker panels! Very easy to notice on a black truck. Just curious what products anyone has used with sucess. I dont offroad all that much. Maybe a few times during deer season. Thanks for any help.

When I had the bed replaced I the shop spray a textured coating over the paint on the bottom stripe, it worked good for a while, but eventually chipped away again.

Do you have any splash guards on, or steps.
I put splash guards on my truck to help with that.

Mud flaps mostly. Maybe steps but eh. You know how people put that clear protective film on hoods? You could do that on the rockers. Go somewhere and have it done or order some 3M protective film and do it yourself. Or bed line it

I was going to say your best bet may be some clear vinyl to cover the rockers. cost effective and removable.

I used 3M Stoneguard down the side of the Ram from the rockers up to the first seam in the bottom of the doors. I’ve seen other people use Xpel…..it’s more money though. I used the Xpel Ultra for my whole front bumper, but stuck with the 3M for the rocker area.

Another option is to get that same area Linex’d, you can either go black or get it colour matched.

I know most people don’t lining running board/steps, but they do cut down on the amount of crap that gets thrown down the side of the truck.

Thanks for the input guys. I just ordered some 3m film, so hopefully i will be able to apply it without looking like a crackhead did it lol

What is beeline? Is it like line x?

I have never heard of it. I googled it but I keep getting nasal spray links.

Meant to say bedliner. Stupid autocorrect. This truck was sprayed with armagaurd but linex rhino liner etc will do it.

There is only one answer for you even if you only wheel once in a while. Search Frame Mounted Rock Slider Ram. You wont regret it the first time that trail bites you.

when you go to apply that clear protective film, dont use soap in the water to lube it, it will get trapped and leave a bit of a white film underneath the film. Ive had good luck with mixing a small amount rubbing alcohol with the water to lube for those clear vinyl applications. Just know though, clear vinyl is a bear to install.

I talked with the local trim shop about getting a custom decal for the hood of my Rebel yesterday, and they also offered to add a clear self healing chip guard on the rocker panels when they had it installing the decal. This sounds like a good option to get, since my panel is black.
