Default Catch can vs CA state smog
I'm about to pull the trigger on a catch can but I'll need to smog my truck this year. Does anyone know if it'll pass if I install a catch can?

It should - you can always remove it real fast- the egr is still putting the recycled air back in- you are just removing the oil from it.

If logic prevails it should be no problem, since the PCV function remains unchanged.

Of course you're in Corruptifornia and the CARB is out of control !!!

You should be good to go with the catch can. I have one from Billet Technology. One bolt and two hoses, and it is on.

Are they easy to pull out and swap if it does cause issues. Are there brands I should look at as opposed to others?

Billet Tech is a good brand and their bracket is easy to deal with. Matt at Moe's sells them.

Sorry I didn't see you had a 4.7. Don't know the brand you asked about.
