My rear axel may be replaced so this might be a good time up upgrade from the 3.55 to 3.92.

If they replace the rear axel with a stock 3.92 should I also get stock 3.92's for the front or aftermarket 3.92's?

I have no reason to upgrade past the 3.92. And don't want the crappy mileage w/4.10's

Going from a 3.55 to a 3.92 isn't enough of a change to justify the cost of parts and labor to do this swap. You are looking at over $2000 in parts to do this on a 2013 4wd.

I would just stick with the 3.55's.

Yes I realize this. but re-read the post. My rear axel might be replaced, therefore if I would only be replacing the front gears at my cost...

Have you priced out a gear swap for the front of your truck yet? Your front ring gear is welded onto the truck, so you cant just replace the gears themselves. You have to replace the entire front housing, and carrier/gear assembly. New, these parts run over $1000 plus labor. The small change from a 3.55 to a 3.92 in a situation like this just doesn't seem like its worth the money IMO. If you were stepping up to a 4.10 or 4.56, then it would be different, but then your cost goes up all around because you would also need a new front driveshaft, an 09-11 front axle, and the older 8" gears and install kit. Then your rear gear parts are more expensive as well, so I don't know that insurance would cover the added cost of the rear upgrade.

If this was an easy ring/pinion swap like it used to be, then I would say yes...but because your truck is a 2013, I think its a waste of money.
