I recently installed a 14" magnaflow and the truck was fine. Few weeks later I removed the resignator and now when I hammer her down I backfires at about 4000 rpm. How bad is this for my truck? What could be causing this and how can I fix it? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thats weird. I didnt have that problem. Backfire generally means its running lean, so you could try: disconnect battery cable for 30 minutes so the pcm can reset and maybe readjust a/f ratio, run higher octain fuel, install a 180 degree thermo to make the engine run richer or put the resos back on. Just some ideas. Then again it may resolve on its own after a few days, the pcm may re-adjust on its own. :grd:
