Looking at buying new lower control arm bushings. Don't want to spend nearly double for new arms when mine are fine, so are the ball joints. Just need new bushings. Would be about $115 for all bushings and new bolts for the strut mounts. Any reason I'd need new caster/camber bolts?

Mine aligned to spec lowered 5.5" without caster/camber bolts, so I'd say there's no reason to get them.

Installed the drivers side exhaust manifold gasket (this was not as hard as I thought it would be) - removed only one broken bolt, the other was broken off flush, so no chance there while head is on truck.

Also installed the larger K&N oil filter & oil pressure sensor.
& new water pump, old one looked ok, but since I had off I put new one on.

Still left to do in engine bay:
1 - idler pulley.
2 - New oil since I changed oil filter.
3 - Pcv valve.
4 - try to fix power steering cooler & install new hoses & fluid.
5 - put rad & rest of cooling system back in.

I've decided to celebrate the Fourth of July like a true southerner I'm gonna be making a custom flag holder for my truck because why the hell not. XD

I've got the bracket that my flag came with bolted in the bed and put a bolt through the post ensuring I don't lose it when I'm driving

I guess i should update everyone on what's been done to the truck since June started. changed the oil Sunday after driving 2000 miles in the Arkansas gumball rally two weekends ago. My friend and I drove the hell out the truck the whole 2000 miles and finished mid pack in the gumball rally, got the gas guzzler award for it! the gumball rally went to an abandoned airbase in Blytheville, AR (where the M2k ford GT set the new standing mile record) and we went 106mph on an all terrain tire. funniest weekend i've ever had in the truck. Outside of that, it's been hauling my mowing equipment around all month. (I'm the guy holding the trophy)

Took a twin mattress and box spring from the g/f house last night. Should have left sooner because I got caught up in the rain we had last night and it was no fun unloading all that into a dumpster in the rain.

At least it was going in the dumpster soaking wet rather than your house.

Finished the truck today.

Note = when you put the serpentine belt on wrong, the truck makes funny noises.

& I over filled the power steering again.

& I thought the power steering pump was making noise since I bought the truck, it makes no more noise, must have been the idler pulley or water pump.

& rounded out the power steering cooler good.

good job heavy D !!

Nice work heavy D

Thanx Guys.

The list of things the truck needs keeps on getting lower. :favorites13:

Cant wait to see if the truck has more power with the new lash adjusters, & I did verify there was 4 that did not extend all the way out & 6 I could not compress without a hammer & the others I could compress with a big adjustable pliers.

I actually drove mine to work today. While I was driving, I noticed that it's been 6 months since I had an oil change and I'm not even close to the 3000 mile sticker they put on. I change mine every 5-6k miles normally, so it looks like I'm going to just do it on an annual basis.

Drove around for regular stuff, since ive been stuck at home for days except for running for parts for the truck.

& I did not know a 4.7 could be this quiet.
& did not feel a diff in power.

At least you're back up and running D.

Been doing a lot of research on truck mods lately, trying to plan for the future
