You get your new cover painted or you buy it like that? Also did you take the old bumper off entirely or did you just cover it with this one? It looks dang good

Anyways, got the upper control arms, bushings, and upper ball joints replaced and its alleviated all but one of my front suspension squeaks, just one to go lol

I printed it and only took old cover off. It uses the metal part

I changed the serpentine belt.

Not to hard, I used a few clamps to hold the belt in place as I routed it throughout the engine bay.

I noticed a couple of the transmission lines leaking near the radiator.

I guess that’s a next weekend job.

Finished a transmission service, just fluid and filter change. When draining everything it looked like a couple gallons. Filed it back up, it only took 6.5 quarts to refill it. I dislike trans services because everything feels slipperier than snot.

However, had to drive around a bit on low fluid. These 545FRE transmissions DO NOT like running low on ATF. Hard shifts, failing to kick down to neutral, stalling... All in the short time it took to get to the auto parts store.

Next up, low temp thermostat and coolant temperature sensor. And chasing down my Evap system leak(s). Then front suspension. Summer is full of projects.

Took off my shaved and custom painted tailgate, and put back on my stock one...

Back to the peasant life of having a tailgate handle and not having a remote control tailgate

Previous owner had taken the muffler out. Sounded nice, but too loud for me. Installed a Thrush muffler from Amazon. Quietened it down to a reasonable level while still sounding nice.

Noticed a new engine knock--real loud when the engine is cold, heard best from just behind the front drivers side tire. Not sure if it quiets down when warmed up or not, I'll have to look into it

I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to get on top of all the gremlins plaguing this truck

Put a air tank on the truck and fabricating brackets for air compressors. Got my secondary shocks welded on and got my sway bar brackets in finally.

Has anyone used the ram bodybuilder website in the past while or has it long been lost? It has just always seemed broken and unusable for me. I'm sure theres a load of good info on it but I'm having to read thru the PDF code just to find links to different sections. Definitely not time-efficient lol

Couple days late but Saturday I ran a couple short errands & when I got home & was parking I heard a hell of a squeel. Not the kind like when you are low on power steering fluid, but you could tell it was definitely the power steering. Tried turning the wheel & she weren't going nowhere, either way. I jacked truck up & the wheels turned then. So I figured the pump **** the bed. This happened at 4:30ish. Took me till 11 that night to replace. That included 2 trips to the parts stores. Fun times

I installed a set of Black Horse front/rear fender flares and sprayed Raptor liner bottom 1/3 of the truck.

Really disappointed with the fit and finish of the fender flares.

Parts were missing in the box and there were no instructions.

I went on line to download the instructions and they are incomplete they jump from step 13 to 20.

So I thought I would download the instructions for the fourth gen hoping they were similar and guess what they don’t have the instructions posted online.

The fenders didn’t fit tight against the body contour. The gasket which is supposed to hide the gap between the fenders and the body had lost it’s adhesive stickiness a long time ago and was a real PITA to get on and it kept falling off.

Pretty disappointed with the product.
