your truck should have the wheel well liners...does it? Not saying they prevent it, but they help.

It's these nasty winters we get and all the road salt. I am surprised my 05 isn't doing it yet. And I will cry if my 08 gets it.

Take the truck to Z-bart in Bloomington for a winterier treatment . They put some sort of clear protection on it that doesn't allow the salt to eat away the truck . My buddy does this every year . Swears by it

Kurt, it could be from something as simple as road salt from the Winters. Once you get it repaired, as already mentioned I would suggest the wheel well liners. Another suggestion is to apply an under coating. This is a cheap and easy thing that can help prevent rust as well!

Well unfortunately its the opposite side from the damage lol...When I have some extra cash I plan on the well liners for the rear definitely...and I guess the easiest way might just be to throw a set of flares on...with that Id need a larger set of tires and a wider stance of course...I hate the look of tires not fitting in the full well area...Could someone chop me a set of black flares onto my ride...here's a pic for ya...

I agree. With dave. Sand it por it then get some flares. It will look sweet with some smooth colormatched flares.
