Recommended Fox Box sub

Hey guys, I just bought the 2-12 vented box for my 09 Ram and I was looking through threads and saw someone say that Fox recommends Alpine Type R's. Is there a reason they prefer Alpine? Was the box designed for that specific sub? I was planning on going with two JL W6's since I hear they are built for quality not just all out bass. Does anyone have this set up with the Type R's? If so how is the bass response?

you got a vented 2 12 box

how much was it??? i never saw the vented one, if it helps im putting my kicker cvrs in my fox box whenever i man uo and order it lol

It was $175, only $10 more than the sealed. It surprised me when I ran across the site, I went to a car audio shop and they were saying it would cost $600 to create a box for my truck. Found Fox, did some research and heard nothing but good things. Now im split on which speakers to get.

Can you give me the link, payday is the first so I think I will do it then, I know the vented is so much better and would deff pay 10 more over the sealed

If you look at the very bottom of the box's description right above the pricing...it tells you what's recommended. JL Audio 12w6 v2 are on that list.

Thats what made me want to get the W6 but I heard that Alpine was the prefered speaker.

Whenever someone throw's out "preferred", I take that as their personal opinion. If the people that made the box say it's recommended and it's something that I want in it, I'll put what I want. Example, when I get mine, I'm throwing kicker cvx's in it.

CVX 12's would be perfect in that box.

joe has always recommended type r subs and apline amps. Could be a personal preference
