Mine was making all kinds of nasty sounds, bad pinion bearings and axle bearings so far not sure what else. I found a decent one from the junk yard, had to remove it from the vehicle and load it up. Got home and pulled my old one out and put in the used one. Took me most of the day but it's nice to have a quiet drive line now. I'm beat that's a lot of work by your self, I inspected everything and torqued it all to spec. Only down fall is I'm on an open diff until I repair mine or through a posi in the new one. $150 to get me by for a while was well worth it for me!

Thanks, it sucks with an open diff. For some reason my 4x4 works great now though, disengages fine, doesn't pull all over the road. All from the bad rear diff? Does anyone no if you can put clutch packs and spiders in an open carrier to make it anti slip?

Consider getting an Eaton TruTrac carrier! They are well regarded in the off road world for replacing the clutch pack style LSD.
