I installed an outside inlet to the lower inlet of my S&B CAI. My intake temp. now runs about 5-10 degrees above ambient, and the throttle response while driving is better.

What did you use for the plastic scoop behind the bumper?
I had a similar idea to do this rather than buying the 100$ scoop I saw another guy on here cut into the stock airbox.
It would work great on a stock air box with a k&n filter.

If I were to do it over again I would do this but not K&N. S&B or green filter with ram-air into the bottom of the stock airbox.
Your brake inlet scoop looks badass, BTW.
Any particular reason why you wouldn't use a K&N filter ? Is it because its oiled or ?
I removed my KN CAI and the tube between the box and throttle body was coated with fine dust after about 8 months.

The fitment of the airbox/heat shield was horrible on mine. Gaps into the engine compartment all over it. The S&B kit looks much better, but I have no experience with it.Not trying to steal the thread here, but I'm thinking of doing a CAI after my lift this summer.... Are you recommending to not go with K&N?
