I have 3.55s, but aren't those supposedly better for mileage, hence why new rams come with 3.21s.
I do not have mdd on because it was giving me a weird drivetrain vibration on my commute, hence why I bought the tuner.
I'm running the 87 tune with stock trans shift points as the superchips shift points were to high without the trans tuning.
I must admit, my commute is mostly city, but the slowest is 35 mph, and my truck can cruise around 1100 rpms in that zone. The rest of the commute is 45 or 55 mph. I travel about 8 miles in the morning, and about 10 in the evening.
The marginal gain you'd have from gears is being killed my no MDS.
also your truck is barely at temp by the time you get where you're going...cold engine=rich fuel mixture.
also the only reason the 8 speed rams have the taller gears is because 1-3 are stump pullers...different animal entirely.
