My truck has stock 5x7" door openings, it looks like Chrysler decided not to get the more expensive oval stamps and just stamp out two round holes... Anyway, was wondering what y'all have done to mount better speakers down there? My truck is noisy, it's not fancy, and I listen to rock and metal, inherently, I listen to it loudly. I don't feel like 5x7's will live up to that.
I have a dremel, and I'm not afraid to use it.
But on the other hand, I'm not sure what kind of depth I'm looking at in there. Was debating on using some raisers and just grinding out the hole enough to make 6x9's fit. I dunno though, won't that rattle the bejesus out of the door?
Frankly I'd be happy just hooking up some MTX Road Thunder truck boxes behind the seats, but no one sells them anymore, or anything like them, and the used ones aren't cheap.
