I think Hammers tests are perfect, they show you what you don't want to use as his top 4. In his haste, he tests oils with heavy VII's and Prolong oil treatment, both branch chain polymers that have implications in a engine long term. If hammer was actually interested in finding out why his tests are completely useless, he would either listen to reason and learn from his own results, or get a company to send him some VII's to learn what they do. Instead, he digs his heals in like he is the foremost expert on oil even when confronted with the weakness in his testing. God knows he probably doesn't want to retest all of the oils in a more appropriate way, lol. The dude says hths is useless, when hths is the best oil test every made, and most oil guys at bob's says so. If you want to see how an oil will perform in adverse conditions, hths is it.
High Temperature High Shear, it weeds out inferior base oils, oils that will leave you susceptible to shear. Real oil testing, not one arm bandit warriors.
