Hammers test doesn't test base oils, they test branch chain lubrication properties which are temporary in an oil change interval. You would think with all of this engineering talk he would understand that.

Hammer had several beneficial post for anyone here and abroad early on , then his true colors started to show a bit.... Then his true colors started to show a bit more .... ultimately his true colors started to SHINE ...at that point folks here on the Ram Forum started to call him out ..and call ******** on HIS BELOVED RAT blog elementary testing he stands behind like it's life or death for him ... ..then he comes back with a fantastic oil pump operation link ...it is a great link ....but hey wait a minute , If you read that oil pump link cloesly you will see it supports the Idiocracies he has been yammering on about for months and it kinda supports his 20W oil smack ....

For what it's worth IMO HAMMERHEAD is just a TROLL ....his satisfaction is seeing us ***** about him ....LOL Just like I'm doing now ....

Guys just don't give his idiotic post / links the time of day ....maybe just maybe he will stop TROLLING here ...

I like anything Shell makes. Their oils are some of the best in any grade or category. Before SOPUS Pennzoil and Quaker State were among the worst oils you could find. Old Pennzoil per sopus had wax in it and was terrible.

This sir... is what you call implying. You are implying that we think we are more qualified to “test oil” we are just giving our experience, findings, and educated guesses on what we see in our own real world experiences. We give our findings on factual, reliable trustworthy sources when possible.

We dont create a test that has NOTHING to do with the way the oil industry test their oil in the environment of an ENGINE.

Reguardless of what i said....If his testing was so great than the oil industry and oil analysis companies would adopt it.

I think Hammers tests are perfect, they show you what you don't want to use as his top 4. In his haste, he tests oils with heavy VII's and Prolong oil treatment, both branch chain polymers that have implications in a engine long term. If hammer was actually interested in finding out why his tests are completely useless, he would either listen to reason and learn from his own results, or get a company to send him some VII's to learn what they do. Instead, he digs his heals in like he is the foremost expert on oil even when confronted with the weakness in his testing. God knows he probably doesn't want to retest all of the oils in a more appropriate way, lol. The dude says hths is useless, when hths is the best oil test every made, and most oil guys at bob's says so. If you want to see how an oil will perform in adverse conditions, hths is it.

High Temperature High Shear, it weeds out inferior base oils, oils that will leave you susceptible to shear. Real oil testing, not one arm bandit warriors.

Really is amazing how many people only see the "happy ending" outcome they expect. Watched a guy fry a turkey on his deck 3 weeks ago. He thought I was some kinda ***** when I tried to talk him out of it. Ron White was right. You can't fix stupid. Merry Christmas to all!
