My
Guess,

Mopar oil is PYB or possibly the missing unicorn Pennzoil semi-synthetic. Either way it is most likely Pennzoil. Some dealers choose other options (on top of haveing mopar oil in stock for the books) because they can find cheaper “synthetics” to scam poor souls into “premium” oil changrs. My dealer carries PUP. I saw them pouring it in on 3 separate occasions durring my free oil changes.

Turbos are a special case. I would not use a generic off the shelf oil for a turbo charge engine, gasser or diesel. But if i did it wold be higher viscosity. 10w40 .... if you can find an off the shelf oil in that viscosity. Most likely diesel oil.

But thats just me, lets be realistic though. Redline is the only thing going in my engines until we Find an equivalent option.

Well. Redline had proven itself across the board. So has motul.

If motul works that would be amazing in 2ways.

1) we have a second option for hemi tic

2) we know that ester and pao are a large contributor next to moly.

We have beleaved this (and we know its probobly true) all along but if motul did it, it would put the nail in the coffin IMO on what is stopping the tic.

Only Redline qualifies as Voodoo, don't be using some fake voodoo and think you belong. I wanna get a voodoo ram decal for the back window.

Only way I'll run Motul is IF, because of all the GF-6 madness, Schaeffers weakens their formulation for the series 9000 5W-40 I'm currently running. Motul would be in play for me at least because for the time being, I can get their 300 series of oils slightly cheaper than I can get Redline. To be honest tho, I'd clearly be more inclined to purchase the American product even if it is slightly more expensive, in the event of a weakening of Schaeffers, and that means Redline.

I was actually thinking the same thing today. Redline is America. So id still probably stick with it unless we found burla’s self healing oil or somthing amazing of that nature.

It's highly doubtful any newer oil standard is going to make a lower oil quality. The oils of today are substantially better than they were 15, 20, or 30 years ago. Not by a little either, by a huge margin.

Oil formulations were better when the gov't wasn't in them imo. They even used to have real synthetic as synthetic oils. They have made some advancements, but have made it harder for oil companies to make an oil for the marketplace and not to gov't garbage standards.
