Pretty much because it states to helps the seals in the engine. its also got 130k on a almost 20yr olf motor.. :)
First off I didn't realize the motor was 20 years old, thought you just had 130k on a younger motor. The only one that I've heard of using a HM oil on here was Smiley and from the little he said about it it turned into a cluster f. But he used valvoline HM. Seems like the HM oils are the craze right now, they used to be few and far between, now everyone has their version.

Anyone know a trick to freeing a disc lock that has salt stuck in it? Its the result of that last trip through the snow storm in the mountains in PA. Last thing I didn't clean the salt off/out of. Can't open the ramp on the trailer... fk me. Cant even get the key in. Trying vinegar right now. If ya'll have any known remedies, I'd appreciate you sharing! I don't want to have to get the plasma cutter out because it's so close to the latch.

Did you try to blast it with a power washer, then hit it with WD-40 to get the water out then some good Redline lube. ;)

I did put penetrating oil on it and got the chunks out last weekend. The vinegar is bubbling... hopefully that's doing something. May try some more penetrating oil after this vinegar does it's thing.

Haven't tried that one yet because the I figured I should get all the salt off first since the penetrating oil did nothing to it.
PB blaster?

Vinegar should seriously do the job. But if it’s really bad ....flip your trailer up on end and dip the lock into an ultrasonic cleaner that should work the best.

:p

If you’ve got aluminum parts in there salt will cause permanent damage to them doesn’t mean it won’t work again though.

water should dissolve the salt, well thats what mr google stated. lol
Yeah, I did do that first with a hose, but it's been in there 45 days or so. Corrosion has set in. I'm gonna try douching it with PB next I think.

Can't tell for sure, but it probably is. The casing is stainless.

Maybe CLR? I have had some luck soaking correded stuff in regular old glycol coolant, also. Last resort before the blue wrench migh be something highly caustic, which will eat aluminum like alka seltzer.

It doesn’t rust.

It just oxidizes REALLY fast when exposed.

When tig welding raw aluminum you have to use a perfectly clean stainless steel wire brush on the weld seem to the point that you remove a small amount of the top oxidized layer of aluminum. you cannot have use that brush or anything but scrubbing aluminum from day one or you contaminate it.

Aluminum SUCKS!!
