This is my first post to the RAM Forum. I have been watching the forum for a few years and finialy pulled the plug on a new 2017 Ram Larmie Crew 4x4 in December of 2017. Just had its first oil change, so I thought it might be a good time to do some "reversable" performance mods. Yesterday I installed a Moes Ported Throttle Body $379.99 (Product Code: 87MM-TB-13), EDGE PULSAR in-line computer $499.95 (32450), and a K&N Cold Air Intake $255.25 (63-1561). All I can say is this thing is crazy!!! On the test ride after the install I inadvertantly had the traction control kicking in multipul times. Tires spinning on take off with light throttle. Stepped it down at 30 and broke traction again.....What a blast! This is exctly what I was hoping for. Plus the ability to select power levels on the fly is great.

Also ordered a B2 Fab 18" bolt on Magnaflow muffler for $285+$22.00 shipping. Cant wait to get it mounted.

I hope this post helps others who are on the fence about doing some mods to their RAM. The entire install was about 2 hours. Plan I am planning going to the track and checking the 1/4 mile times sometime this spring. I will share the results....

Im in the market for a tuner...tell me more about this pulsar please!
Same here! Never heard of this, reviews look good though... is it used instead of a tune? And the pcm does not need to be unlocked?

It's a much less customizable tuner for 15+. No custom tunes and no tire size adjustment. But sounds like most still love it. I'd prob just buy a DS3 with an eBay pcm for the swap and it would be like 100 more than the edge

We got some info on it here http://www.ramforum.com/threads/edge-products-pulsar-module-at-got-exhaust.117467/

We have moved a decent amount of these. The change on the fly settings and the ability to go back to stock without a trace seems to be the biggest draw to it. Also custom tuning is supposed to be coming for it eventually.

If they get this so it can be custom tuned I am in, only draw back with it as is.

So I’m thinking the timing is limited to the 87 is fine to use , 89 is recommended , that’s why the gains are not earth shattering, premium fuel builds power . I wasn’t able to find any info on the octane requirements but I
Feel my hunch is right

When/if this thing comes out for the 6.4, AND calibrates for larger tires, I’m in. Not sure there are any good options currently for disabling MDS and calibrating for larger tires for my ‘18 PW....

I would stick with level 6 or below if only running 87. 89 or higher to use level 8, IMO.

Has level 8 played well w/ 89 for you? I figured there would be knock w/ less than 91 so I haven't given it a try yet.

Edit to add: Just took mine for a drive to see if 8 was doable on 89. No issues at all & I made sure to go WOT multiple times from a stop & a roll to try & induce knock. I've been running level 6 for quite awhile now & had forgotten how much "more" 8 provides. Level 8 & Sport -3 on the Pedal Commander is my new favorite combo w/ 89 octane.

I only ran a tank of 89 with it on level 8 so I am not saying it's gospel but didn't have any obvious signs of pinging on my end. It is very hot here too. I am currently running in level 6 with the PC set down all the way in sport and I love how smooth it is and easy to engage the throttle. No MDS down/up power level and no lag. I have the 32 gallon tank so a bit pricey to fill up with 93 all the time. I'm actually running 87 now and now issues with level 6. I tried level 4 with the PC turned up and it gets rid of the lag but I don't know if it will help MPG, will try a full tank of that next.
