Just finished up doing dash, rear doors and sub. Big improvement.

I have an extra ref-3022cfx and connector if anyone is looking for a 3rd dash speaker.

I just got done doing the 7 speakers, fox box, two alpine type r subs and a mtx 1500w class d amp. I have the extra Infinity speaker and wiring adapter. If anyone needs it shoot me a message. I will ship the speaker and adapter for $50
If either one of you guys still have the speaker, I need it.

Is the factory sub powered? By that I mean does it contain its own amp and is only getting the line-in signal pre-amp from the head unit? I have a pretty decent Pioneer powered sub I'd like to replace it with, and it will accept pre-amp RCA jacks or the amped signal, but sounds better with pre-amp.

Sorry, I'm not hip to the lingo.

I am in the same situation, not happy with the front sound. Any reason why you did not go with the Mopar upgrade 77KICK42? The set gives you the three 3.5's and two 6X9's for the front doors for those unfamiliar.

No reason in particular.

I have used Infinity before and was very happy with them, great cost effective speakers IMO

I have no history with Kicker products, so I have no opinion good, bad or indifferent
However I think other members here have used the Kickers and could be of more assistance

Here is a thread I started on my experience, waiting on an amp, line converter and wiring kit at the moment

Couple questions:

This is all plug and play so to speak...meaning replace the speakers and I wouldn't have to worry about adding extra amps and such. I'm assuming this is true.

There are 6x9's in the front doors...are the rear doors 6x9's also? Again I believe they are...just checking.

Thanks!

I've already put Infinity Reference REF-3022cfx in my dash speakers, highly recommended. Still missing a subwoofer upgrade. I was considering the Kicker SRAMCQ09 but it's expensive and you loose the fold-flat flooring. This OEM subwoofer replacement mod seems like a much better option.

I've ordered the PIONEER TSSW2002D2 Slim 8-Inch Sub 600W Max/150W RMS and Metra 72-6514 speaker wiring harness. Will install this into my 2014 RAM 1500 sport. I have the 8.4AN alpine.

Yes. Assuming you have the 8.4AN Alpine system:
3 – 3.5 speakers in the dash
2 – 6x9 speakers in the front doors
2 – 2.5 speakers in the headliner
2 – 6x9 speakers in the rear doors
1 – 8" subwoofer under the rear seat

Careful on buying replacement 6x9 speakers for the front doors. Very, very few aftermarket ones are shallow enough.

I am doing the speaker upgrade with the Infinity 3.5's and the Pioneer sub. I have a couple questions about the front door speakers. I eventually would like to replace them with a quality 6.5" mid-range. Does anyone know the ohm rating for the factory front speakers? What is the power rating for the factory amp? I also have an Infinity 3.5" with adaptor for sale.

I do not know amp power or impedance, but the Infinity 6x9 Co axels fit with a 1/4" spacers added to them

for the record they sound great

I believe all the drivers (with the possible exception of the sub) are 2 ohms. The Alpine amp is not all that powerful so you'll want to find speakers that are more efficient.

I'm going with the Infinity's mentioned in this thread...they are all 3 OHM's...so should be good. Dash and rear door speakers. Ordered the Metra connectors off of Crutchfield (needed $40 to get free shipping) and the rest on Amazon (I get 5% off all purchases on Amazon).

One question that has been asked 2x in this thread...but not answered (directly) is how to plug the hole in the bottom of the stock subwoofer enclosure.

I'm thinking of using a simple and very inexpensive rubber stopper and just pushing it into the hole. Think of one that is used in a chemical flask. Larger on the top, smaller on the bottom. You can get bunches of various sized ones on Amazon. I'm just going to spend $15 and order a couple bunches..one should fit! They are hard enough rubber that they shouldn't give much...and should stay put. if need be I can glue it.

I'm doing this specifically so that I don't have to deal with trying to tape and seal and glue something down to the stock enclosure. I figure why overthink it...just plug the hole.

Thoughts? Other ideas on how to plug that hole?

Thanks for everyone posting in this thread...great information!

According to Crutchfield the Infinity Reference X REF-3002cfx are discontinued and have been replaced by the Infinity Reference REF-3032cfx.

Has anyone tried the installation with these speakers? From what I can see, it looks as if the specs are the same.

do not repalce the front door 6x9's......they are mid-bass speakers and have almost no highs, so it would be a waste to buy a nice set of 2way or 3 way 6x9's.

Just because they’re midbass only doesn’t mean they’re not crap and need to be replaced.
