Had a friend who tried to immigrate to Australia as a retiree. They turned him down because he had to prove employment or open a business to hire Australians. I like that kind of immigration program.

I’m currently working on sanding and painting my Westin HDX step bars. I found some rust forming in several areas on both the driver & passenger side bars. It looks like the result of stones and or road salt damage. (Yay for the northeast) I suspect a couple other spots I found to be Westin’s fault but I don’t feel like going through that hassle with them.

I also found some rust forming around one of the welds on the passenger side. Note to anyone who has these on their truck, keep an eye on them. I installed OEM mud flaps last year to help shield the step bars from road debris but I think some damage had already been done by that time.

I’m using the Rust-Oleum spray-on truck bed coating. I’ll post some before & after photos when it’s all done. I’ll be doing the bull bar also as a mystery ding appeared on the front of it and whatever hit it cracked the paint. Prime rust season is coming in PA so I figured I’d better take care of it before it gets a lot worse.

Some before & after photos if anyone is interested. Not a real big difference in appearance. The paint that was on them was lightly textured. I sprayed generous 5 coats on them and will most likely add more before road salt season hits.

There was a bad spot on the forward, down-facing area of the driver’s side rear passenger step that looked like it was shot with 00 buck. I didn’t get a photo of that, it took forever to sand.

Yesterday, I installed the DRL module from Daniel Stern Lighting. I’m very happy with Mr. Stern’s product and his customer service. The DRL’s are very bright. (TYC projectors)

I found a previous post here in the forum about this subject and sent an email to Daniel Stern to order the module. He provided very clear and easy-to-follow instructions for the install in his email. I pulled up the email on my iPad and followed the instructions as I went.

He suggested purchasing posi-taps to make the install easier... let me just say, posi-taps are the way to go for electrical work. (I’ll be ordering more to keep on-hand for future projects)
I also ordered a bag of fuse taps through Amazon to tap into an ignition power source in the fuse box.

Since my truck didn't come with satellite radio from the factory I had a magnetic antenna but it got bad reception and over all looked ugly. So I decided to mount one permanently. Since I had the headliner down I installed my mirror harness. Now I just need the mirror.

Truck is filthy, haven’t washed it in 6 weeks due to a constant rain almost daily. I did clean and detail the interior and finally washed off under the hood.

I've always been nervous to wash the engine bay because of all the electrical components

Cleaned the interior and went nuts on the wheels. Did the inner and outer wheels. Looks 100% better.
Didn't wash the truck though as it is pouring out right now. She does need a wash though.

Tune the Sirius XM to channel 0, and it will give you the ID number. Then you can call them to activate it. Mine is about $19 a month

Nah man. We don’t even get the XM option on the screen. But the Antenna is on the roof. [emoji35]

It may actually not work down here at all.

I was nervous too but I watched this video from a member here and it turned out fine. I followed his method and covered the alternator, throttle body next to it and also covered the fuse box. I used simple green to spray mine down with, we use it around the house for many things. I was going to use my pressure washer but just used a garden hose with sprayer instead and it worked great. Then I hand dried it and used Areospace 303 on the plastics.

Just don’t forget to remove the bags before you start the truck.

You’re not missing much. It’s the same songs 24/7 365. I didn’t have it from May to September or when the free preview started. I tuned in and pretty much the exact same songs I was listening to. Not worth even paying $5 a month in my opinion.

Also, when the 1 free year is up they will call you 5 times a week. I had to threaten them with legal action if they did not stop calling me. I reminded them if I wanted your service I’d pay for it and be in contact. I’m glad all the other people we buy crap from don’t call us 5 times a week to see if we wanna buy their crap.

For $10 a month you can probably get iTunes music or Spotify. You can download what you want to avoid data usage. And can listen to what you want. Playlists etc...

Sirius XM is a dinosaur in this day and age. And annoying as ****. Let not forget annoying as ****
