I put the opt 7 redline triple. Been rock solid. I mounted inside the rear window tight. I never thought the tailgate was a great place because every time i have to wash mud or saw dust or whatever out of the truck i goes right to where light bars usually are mounted.

Plus i like the look and I think it is way more visible in traffic.

I ended up wiring the backup to my cargo light so I can turn it on whenever I want. And wired everything pretty mich from the rear tail lights because I need to fix my trailer tow connector. I got rearended about a year ago and the trailer connector has been weird ever since.

I've been curious about doing this! I'm glad you put a pic up of it. If I ever got around to buying one of these, I was thinking of placing it in the crease/seam of the rear window. I've just been trying to visualize what it would look like and where the wires would have to be placed to hook into it.

I like it mounted up there. To me, that would be way more visible. I think the OPT7 would look good up there with the turn signals, too!

Mine does have the turn signals in it as well. The flashers really get some attention at night because they go from the middle out. Trying to not get rearended again if possible.

I still have to black out my original third brakelight, probably going to just color match paint it to the body color.

Led's in the backup lights now why didn't I think of that? Got a part number so my lazy butt doesn't have to search?

I got mine from "The Auto Led" but now they dont retail, they are into research n development. You might try them though as they may have inventory left. i know they have headlights n fogs still
