my 2001 1500 5.2l. went with mobil one and mobil one filter at first oil change. (500 miles) then same thing every 4000 mile, now at 486,000 mile runs like new. starts in about 2 seconds, does not smoke. Things fixed: the intake plenum plate with huges thick aluminum plate, 2 water pumps and 2 gas pumps. one starter ( and standard thing like plugs, wire , cap, rotor) too bad the trans is not as good as the engine. this is a farm truck so it lives in mud, dust, dirt roads etc, not abused, but i do not baby it

I may switch to RP now that it is easier to purchase. I also use Motorkote Hyperlubricant in all my vehicles as well.

Motorkote should be banned man, short term smoothness at the price of long term corrosion.

Prolong has the highest chlorinated parrifins and motorkote is second.

The only reason this isnt banned is because of the needs in metal working, the stuff should never be in an engine. Do your research. It is a wax with a chlorine carrier, I have used it myself when it first came out, then I learned about it. It will make an engine run incredibly smooth, but overtime it will corrode metal. The reason it is so popular in metal working is because the metal isnt exposed to it long term like it is with people who put it in oil. It makes two metal surfaces have next to no friction under extremes, but at long term cost to that metal. Moly and perhaps esters is a better long term choice. Thus why people prefer biotech around here.

Many people put two stroke in gas car engines, it is an upper cylinder lube at worst, a cleaner at best, generally wont hurt anything.

And I've heard that, but the poster also mentioned a 30:1 ratio. Isn't that a bit much as an additive?

Just so you know the amount of chlorine in that product, here are the results... That first link is correct, this product breaks down into acid which is the enemy of oil and engines.

Engine Treatment ProductChlorine, ppm (%)
Dura Lube Engine Treatment Booster55,000 (5.5)
Motorkote Hyper Lubricant/Engine Treatment272,000 (27.2)
Motorkote MK Million Mile Formula207,000 (20.7)
Prolong Engine Treatment304,000 (30.4)

Yeah that wont work, like a gallon per tank, yeah no.
Last thing I put 2 stroke snake oil in was my 71 T500 R 3 cylinder 500 cc 2 stroke motorcycle.

Did oil change with PUP and lubetech 1st time last week. Will see how quieter it gets just put in as a preventive.

Thank you for sharing that with me. As you can see I am new here, and am definitely appreciative of what is shared here. I am picking up my ‘15 Ram on Friday. She only has 39,000 miles. I definitely do not want to put anything in that will harm her.

Welcome to the board brother, lots of shared knowledge here you found a good spot. Research the hemi tick lubrication threads, over a decade we figured out some stuff, 100's of rams were involved.

Not sure I understand why you are adding 2 smoke oil to the gas.
Please explain.
Because it’s a 2 stroke engine, you add the oil to the gas. They don’t have a crankcase to add oil to. The oil in the gas provides the lubricant needed.

He was referring to people who add two stoke to car gas tanks. You can see this was/is a popular thing at bobs.

even 5th gen has a thread on it..

I'm so far behind on times. I thought adding two-stroke to car gas tanks was why some of those cars sounded like overgrown weed wackers going down the road.lol I couldn't resist

Red Line is out of their minds (or should I say Phillips / Conoco?) - was looking at some V Twin Motorcycle Oil 20W-50. Best pricing I could see is a little under $20 / quart!

Amsoil around $12 / quart. I guess they're no longer interest in staying in business.
