Ok, so i just got a 02 Ram 1500 5.9 SXT..... I got a good price on it. Anyways the tranny is not full working on it. It will drive a bit (Have not run it much at all) but when it you put it in reverse it will go for a little bit and then it is like you have the brakes on in the transmission. But it will go foreword right away again when you put it in drive. Anybody have any thoughts?? Oh and i brought it home with my 1500 4.7:roflsquared: 12.9 mpg.

Does your ATF look clean and fresh. Are there any sounds coming from the transmission or rear end when the lock up occurs?

Are you sure the emergency brake isn't binding. There should be codes if the trans is not happy.
