Not sure which EVIC (center display in your dashboard) you have but it is an option in there to view fuel economy - current (instantaneous) and average (since reset).

If you have the larger display you can select what parameters are along the sides and in the corners, and fuel economy is an option for a few of those for continuous viewing no matter what you have the center selected to.

If you are on the MPG part on the screen, it is like trip A and trip B...there are 2 of them. One will show your overall average, and the second one will show your overall average and a small part in the upper right corner that shows instantaneous...just use your right arrow to scroll to the one you want.

Dean, I'm assuming yours (27) is KmPG? Otherwise I'm failing something fierce.

No, that readout is in MPG. It will range from 0 sitting idling, to 7 or 8 accelerating all the way up to 99 coasting downhill. It is the instant readout. Running on flat ground on cruise at 70 MPH it usually reads about 21 or so. The 19.9 MPG is the average since the last fill when I zeroed the trip A screen.Below is the hand calculated numbers since I got the truck new, based on full tank fills over 2 years.Screenshot_20230908_164157_FillUp[1].jpg

Are you running the 5.7 or the turbo diesel? My 6.4 doesn't get anywhere close to that.

6.4 gas in a 2021 Laramie 2500 Longbox. It is the one in my avatar and signature pictures.

Interesting. But I think I figured out the difference. You're riding on smaller tires and different transmission. I'm on 20" rims and Nitto tires.

Just curious, I am running the 8 speed transmission, what are you running that is different than that? Wider and heavier tires can definitely reduce gas mileage, so that would be a factor.

I have the 8 speed too, but the 4.10. I'm guessing it's the tires. I average about 13 in town and about 15 or 16 on the highway if I've got the cruise control set.

Fill up until it clicks off. Set tripmeter. Drive until 1/4 or less tank. Fill up at same gas station (preferably same pump). Stop when it clicks off. Note gallons and tripmeter miles. Take miles driven divided by gallons used = MPG. Only way to know for sure
