2007 Ram 2500 oil burn??

I had the engine rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago. It is blowing grey smoke and using a lot of oil. I held a rag over the exhaust and I got oil specks all over the rag, any ideas what could cause this??

It could be a lot of things unfortunately. I'd first check the PVC, then pull the spark plugs to see if it is just one or all of the cylinders burning oil. Then do a compression check. This should start narrowing down what is wrong.

LOL, last time I checked my diesel didn't have spark plugs........... I checked the turbo and it is definitely not the problem. Any other suggestions??

But yeah so did i when you said rebuilt the motor normally cummins' dont need to be opened for like a millions miles. So what was your inital problem to need a rebuild?
How did you verify it is not the turbo?

If it was just rebuilt 10k miles ago, warranty to the rescue. Bring it back
