Hey guys, I have been doing some research and my 2013 can only get OEM gears. Questions are!

1. Is it worth it for me? I are the track A LOT. And some say the switch isn't really worth it, and some say it is! I want 4:56 but they don't make them for my truck. So...is it worth it to switch 3:55 to 4.10?

2. 1/4 Mile improvements? .2-.4 or what?

ALSO... I have a 275/40/20 tire, so 4.10 plus my tires will be close to a 4:30ish rear end I am guessing

3. Will I have to recalibrate the speedo? I read somewhere that I won't have to, only if I change the tires...is this true that gears
Don't effect the speedo?

THANKS GUYS!

Gears absolutely effect speedo.
There is a thread that someone added 4.10 from factory 3.55 open. I believe his cost, doing labor himself, 1700 bucks parts.

Gears will not effect the speedo. The sensor is in the differential so it automatically reads the correct speed.

You will need to go the exact same route I went.
I have a 2014 and I just installed 4.56s

First, if you already have a LSD differential then you have to send it to a forum member and have it machined to except the older non zf style gear set.
That will cost I think 280ish.
If you don't have an LSD like I did.
You need to buy an entire new Mopar LSD and then have it machined. That costed me $885
Now you can go on moes website and order the motive 4.56s for $200 and an install kit and your good to go.

In total I have about 1200-1300 in the gear swap.
Worth every penny.
Dropped my 60' times from 2.2 to 1.9
And it dropped my 1/8 mile times .25 with low traction.

Or you can go this route.

The guy who made that thread is the guy who machines the carriers.
Great dude and he knows his ****.

Hope that helps

3.55 to 4.10 isnt really that big. I'd look into a set of smaller tires on aluminum rims to slap on on race day. THis will cost way less money and time. Plus you can achieve the gear ratio comparo.

This thread might help you:

And yes, very noticeable difference, even while taking it easy during 500 mile break in.

1) Yes, definitely worth it. It's still my favorite mod. Especially if ypu track your truck a lot.

2) Could be up to 3 tenths in the 1/4.

With your 28" tall tires, your effective ratio would go from 4.08 currently to 4.71 with 4.10s. So no need to go to 4.56s.

3) Not correction needed for a gear swap, just tire height change.

Gears absolutely effect speedo.

False, ring&pinion does not effect speedo only a change in tire size.

He already has 28" tall tires that brings his effective ratio up to 4.08. He wants more gear now.

You're right. It would be more like 4.71s.

I agree with Tyler. It's money well spent, and a VERY effective mod.
It was an absolute "must have" for me. Without it, I just had a bunch of useless power that I couldn't get to the ground.

Exactly, it totally changes the feel of the truck and not just at WOT.

Wait till the break in is over with and you put a converter in David.

Absolutely Tyler! It has affected many aspects of the way truck drives: grip, balance, shifts, etc.. Whoever decided to put 3.55/open dif in these trucks at the factory, needs to have a solid ass-kicking! Lol

Can't wait for break in to be over, so I can really feel it! Next week the 2/4 drop is going in and shortly after the converter.

P.S. one of my favorites with the 4.10s is the engine breaking! Something I barely felt with 3.55s.
