the 2014 2500 use the same frame as 3500 but you are right about most everything else..you can get a beefier rear end on a 3/4 ton too im pretty sure..the only difference on the motor is lower rpm capability and a flatter torque curve on the 1 ton

He compared a '12 2500 to a '14 3500.

They do not have the same frame.

He also said the '12 had a 5.7 vs the '14 having a 6.4. Apples and oranges.

You won't save by getting smaller gears. You will burn up any savings lugging the load when you use it to tow and also be unhappy with it in comparison. No one ever says I want less power and ability. You will appreciate the bigger gears when you have them and miss them when you don't and you load it up. My opinion is based on my own experience and I can't speak for others.

I'm well aware of what I said. I was responding to a specific post which said his '12 2500 and his '14 3500 are pretty much the same truck. They couldn't be more different.

As for the '14 differences, I've have two '14s, a 2500 and a 3500 dually so I know where they're the same and different. :)

Yeah I thought about it but I didn't want to wait for it, I'm happy with what I have those. I was so close to retirement and when I went to buy it and finance it I wanted to bank see that I was working.

Diablosport has had a tuner out for a while for the 2500 with the 6.4. Hemi fever actually has a tune for it too. Bullydog is supposed to be releasing a tuner for it as well, that one can adjust tire pressure thresholds which the Diablo tuner cannot.

I don't know, I know the positives of the Diablosport tuners is the ability to run custom tunes like hemi fever. But since they won't adjust the tire pressure thresholds I will be going with bullydog.
