2014 V6 won't shift into gear

Hey all,

Just changed my oil and when I went to remove my truck from the ramps it would not shift out of park. Flashing gear lights and said "Shift to P then desired gear" every time. I used the emergency towing method to drop it off the ramps but still having the problem. The knob turns and I hear the click when I depress brake and turn the switch for the gears but nothing. Any quick fix?

Try disconnecting the battery for about half an hour.

I tried that, disconnected it, and still is flashing when i switch gears and telling me to turn back to park.

Probably have to get it towed to the dealer. May be a faulty shifter, I've seen a few of them go bad.

Ya, I called dodge, it is still completely under warranty so they are going to take it to the dealership for me. Problem is i'm visiting family for the holidays and start a new job about 700 miles away on Monday. They will also hopefully be covering cost of rental and shipping my truck back to me. Just more stress than anyone needs.

Just wondering the outcome of this. Did they fix it? What was the cause? What was the fix?

Yeah what was the outcome?? Mine is doing this now. No matter what I do I can't get the truck to shift out of park. Please help!

Edit: mine is a 2014 Hemi 1500. Got oil changed Friday and it sat ever since. This is now Sunday, got in it to go somewhere and got this message...

You could try unplugging the shifter, starting the truck, waiting for the CEL, shut off the truck, open the door, close the door, wait for 30 seconds after ALL the dash lights go off, plug the shifter back in, start the truck...

Maybe it will reset/fix your problem.
