I am planning on purchasing a 2015 Ram 1500 and I have a question about mileage with the Hemi 5.7. I am considering a Ram Big Horn regular cab with the 8 speed automatic tranny, 4x4, and 3.21 gears in the rear axle. According to the Ram website and by their admission the regular cab is 700 lbs. lighter than the quad cab and even more so when compared to the crew cab. Yet all are listed at 15/19 in terms of city/highway mileage. Ford is going on about how the new 2015 F150 with the aluminum body is 700 lbs lighter than the 2014 model. They are forecasting higher mileage figures due to the lighter weight vehicle. Wouldn't the same hold true for the regular cab Ram? At 700 lbs. lighter than the bigger cab versions the mileage from a regular cab with the Hemi 5.7 should be substantially improved. What am I missing?
Go for the 6.4 L Hemi, 2500 Mega cab..u wont regret it
