Well. I'm tired of my little 1500. I love it but. I've wanted a 2500 w the 6.4 for a while. Anyone know price breaks one can get on a 2017? Still by no means cheap but hoping they drop a lot. Thanks

Generally there are good discounts to go around on all trims. A bit less than 1500s but still in the 5-7k range off MSRP at least without too much effort I would say.

I bought mine at www.31dodge.com ... around $10k off sticker. I had my own financing prior to deal. Two phone calls later, it was delivered to my driveway on a flatbed the next day for free. Up too 300 mi away from Kernersville, NC. Huge selection with detailed pics and prices of all online. Just checked their site. They are a little low on stock... only 378 new Ram 2500s on the lot today lol. Good luck!

Personally I had something like $8500-$9k off on mine. When I say 5-7k off I'm talking you should get that without even trying lol. $10k off is not unreasonable on them. Especially the higher trims.

There are some dealers scattered around like Dennis Dillon who will give you $10k or more off without negotiating.

+/-18% off MSRP is certainly achievable this time of year with rebates. Although it's a Cummins, that's the deal I got a little over a year ago on my 2016.

Near the end of November, there are generally good prices/rebates. Last year I ended up buying a 3500 for $13k off.

yup, Dennis Dillon gave me $12000 off a 2015 6.4. some of that was some specific discounts like USAA - military discount. so $10,000 or so is where I would start. and for sure get the 4.10 gears. One of the main reasons I went to Idaho was northern California had no 4.10 available and wanted way more for a tradesman 2500 than I paid for my Big Horn.

Don't automatically discount a 3.73 geared truck. It depends on how heavy you want to tow. Ideally, yes get the 4.10s, but if your not towing heavy (i tow around 6k with mine) the 3 73s are fine. Yeah, maybe the 4.10s have a bit more bottom end, but i don't think it would be something you would notice. Now 3.73 to a 4.30 or 4.44 (Mopar) yes, that would be noticeable. I have no issue with my 3.73s. Good luck.

There are 4:10 trucks out there. Sometimes it takes a while to find though. I searched the internet for nearly 3 months and found one 6 hours away in Chicago. Be patient, but this is a good time to buy! I opted for 4:10 gears do to towing & I hear they use utilize the cylinder deactivation feature more. The 3:73 is the default axles, and most dealers who order, do not know what HD owners prefer.

Either way if you tow heavy you'll want to upgrade to 4.56s or better so just pick one that suits your needs and saves you the most $$ so you can put that towards a regear if you need to. You'll get better deals on what the dealers have on the lot

100% spot on SM! if your towing in the 10k range, I'd probably try to get a 4.10 geared truck. i bought my truck at the end of the year last year and got a great deal. it was not a big compromise to me but everyone is different.. get what you want and like. that's what is most important

Dealers absolutely have no idea how to spec HD trucks lol. Not just trucks, but basically anything. Sometimes I cant believe how I see vehicles optioned on the lots. Like they just put the option sheet on the wall and play darts. Its to the point where I will never buy another truck again without custom ordering.

I ordered mine & got $10,000 off with a lot of patients & work. They "accidently" missed a couple items on my order sheet & took off another $2,000. Unless I ever put a plow on it they are items I will never miss.

Interesting... when I bought my 2500 ccsb 6.4L 4x4 in July '16, almost ALL of the dealer stock had 4.10 gears, so this dealer DID know how to order. Super-easy to deal with too... next to no negotiation, & I got $10.6k off MSRP. I don't tow heavy, but I LOVE The 4.10s... VERY quick off the line... and it seems to help the MDS activate more often. I live in the mountains north of L.A., so my mileage sucks... around 10-11 around town... but I have done 18 mpg on a camping trip to Mammoth with a fully loaded bed & 110 degree heat. No complaints here.

I used to live up there, mammoth- the altitude and hills made me really want 4:56 or 4:88 gears.
