Yes do it. The chrome bumper looks so out of place. I bedlined mine. View attachment 8900581aff7506442993c557534f027c3e3e0.jpg

How bad do your tires/steering wheel shimmy with the big tires and spacers...say between 45 and 60?
Tires have balancing bb's in them...still pretty bad. My spacers are hub centric. The wheels are lug centric. Look into wheel centric rings also maybe?

It's going to wander a little bit man. Are you talking about a vibration or not keeping the wheel straight?

Vibration in the steering wheel. Can actually watch it shake. I'm gonna try rotating the tires, and if that doesn't fix it I'm gonna try throwing the old ones back on to see if it goes away...that way I at least know what it is.

So here's today's pics. Getting ready for some surgery to get this ****** ebay bumper on. I was still pretty leary about cutting these frame rails.

I had driven it to my dad's house (where I grew up, and much more room to work) and I had total flash backs of wrenching on my race car growing up, and trying to get my stupid go fast ideas complete in a hurry before Dad came home to find my jeep in pieces...or a cherry bomb installed on the farm truck. Lol.

My dad isn't as much of a gear head as me. He helps quite a bit, but he learns from me in most cases. Lol. Sometimes he gets to going on things that are over his head (like nitrous and such) being "a bad idea" yada yada....so as im standing there....sawzall in hand, all I can think to myself is "Christ... I hope I get these ******** off before my dad gets home" lol

He did get home shortly after (first time seeing the truck since modded) and he started his bickering as usual lol, but actually helped me quite a bit and was right there with me squaring up the frame rails. Nice father son evening. Brings back a lot of memories! My feel good story for the evening.

So more good news to report...I talked to treadwright briefly...I was advised to rotate the tires to fix the vibration in the steering wheel. I called total ******** on this, but shockingly, it worked. This thing drIves beautiful now.
Doesn't slove what they are gonna have to do to supply another tire so I can rotate them eventually....but still happy I didn't ruin this truck between the spacers, wheels, and tires and lift.

Next good news...the rattle in the front end was the factory air box that the body shop didn't bolt down...go figure

Got a lot of piece of mind tonight!

So back to this ebay *************...lol which I have fully forgiven the body shop for not wanting to install.

I Cut the frame rails, leaving plenty of room for adjustment, and I'm going to either have to cut the body/inner structure...OR hack this rear bar off the actual bumper. I probably won't mess with it again til the weekend. But a pretty **** product. Maybe Derek can set me straight on if he trimmed any. But I totally won't be recommending it going forward.

Painted my grille emblem also. Experimented with bedliner and gloss engine enamel. Curious to see how it'll dry.

Guess I'm driving bumper less til Saturday lol

Looks great, hopefully you can get the bumper to work cause it looks sick!
I also love working on my truck with my dad, growing up I always hated having to go out to the garage to help him, but once I started working on my own car I started to get an appreciation for his skills. He is more of a repair/replace kinda mechanic, so he isn't all that knowledgeable about performance mods like I try to explain to him lol
But he sure can gut an engine and rebuild it from scratch

Was exactly like mine. Lol I torched the brackets off the front. Cleaned it up with a grinder, welded the front brackets for the bumper on (you can drill and bolt if you want), and bolted the bumper to the brackets.
