4th Gen 2018 SPORT Tow Hooks?

Mine is a 2011 Laramie but I bought tow hooks and the panel from www.RamsAreUs.com Pretty pricey though. BTW, mine bolted right in, the chassis already had the threaded holes and the hooks bolt right in on the bumper supports using the original nuts. Took a max of 20 minutes to install it all.

Best way to learn how to install tow hooks . Go to a junkyard remove the hooks and skid plates . Come home reinstall them . No video needed and you saved money. Winner winner chicken dinner.

I’ve used tow hooks plenty on my Super Duty but that front end is all metal. I wonder how useful tow hooks would be on my Express surrounded by all plastic?

I did the cutting in place by using a hole saw for the ends, and then an air saw to go between the holes. I use this method for mounting oval STT lights JB1 mentioned that the plastic piece is only about $30.00, do you have the part number or vendor for that ?

I installed the tow hooks on my 15 Sport, cut the insert with a vibrating cut tool, then put in a 22" curved led between the hooks. Works well and although it is a little tight below the hooks, I've used it a few times with a flat strap and no issues.

BTW....it just un-snaps from a few tabs, crawl under your truck and take a look. It’s odd but it installs from the backside not from the front.

This is how my tow hooks sit with the custom sports brackets. They just slide the hooks towards the outside of the truck and slightly up I believe. The hooks do fit without the brackets but I believe you have to install them faced in instead of faced out or they push the bumper face

Yeah, I had a 2013 Sport and I installed the tow hooks on mine. Pretty sure I was the first person on ramforumz with a 2013 Sport to install the tow hooks. It was a learning experience for sure. There was no custom bracket of any sort back then, so I had to put the hooks on backwards otherwise they wouldn't fit.

Found some but they’re without any hardware..just the hooks themselves. I remember reading another member had a hard time because he couldn’t find the hardware so I THINK they’re “supposed to” come with nuts and bolts??

Sure? Cuz another guy said he had to order the bolts for the frame side..and it uses existing hardware on truck. hmm unless he bought them used.

You will re use your bumper mount bolts but the kit comes with the bolts that go through the tow hook eyelet to mount to your frame.

Well guys. I finally did it!!! Took 4 hours because I didn't have a deep 18mm socket so had to run to Lowe's and then working on the last hook the damn Harbor Freight 1/2" torque wrench exploded!! So got stuck using 3/8" torque wrench with breaker bar and shallow 3/4" socket which absolutely sucked.

Shoutout to @crazykid1994 for the tow hook brackets (sanded off most the rust then did 3 rust base coats & 2 black top coats), eBay for the bolts & tow hooks (new without box and slight scratches I'm hoping don't rust), and the one member on the forums for the BEAUTIFUL trim recommendation to clean it all up (woulda looked like trash without the trim)! Only complaints I guess are the trim where the two ends meet, didn't think about it before installing the hooks permanently or would have had to trim piece end another way and it’s not EXACTLY even on each side, but can't complain actually came out wonderful.

Soooo seems like a custom bracket is needed to almost even make them practical without destroying the lower bumper if you even can get the chain or rope inside the hook. The custom bracket is no longer anywhere to be bought.

Don't see custom grill inserts which I sorta thought would exist.

So I just got my tow hooks from Elitewill delivered today. The package was destroyed and hooks are all scratched up and one of the brackets is bent (and it was clearly bent before shipping because they provided a replacement). I’m using different brackets anyway but with all these issues should I make a stink about it? I’m on the fence considering they were only $95.

Did you see before pics? Assuming they weren’t like that beforehand but everything is almost starting to make it seem that’s why it was a steal at $95..
