So I had a day with my 'new to me' truck on a lift over the weekend. Front Brakes, DOT3 fluid flush, engine oil and filter change, and overall inspection...

I found on the passenger side, towards the rear of the transmission a wire hanging next to some place to plug in into.

A google search is saying it is the transmission pressure transducer.
Why would have a shop unplugged it?

This vehicle was professionally maintained since new by my brother.

Very good question; unplugged that should cause the MIL to illuminate from at least 2 codes. Does it drive normally?

It seemed to drive normally and the only MIL I have been getting has bee a repeated p0551 power steering switch performance.

When I clear it, the MIL stays off for a while and the first time I noted the PS reservoir low, so I thought (hoped) that was going to be it... But it returned

I plugged it back into the transmission.
