- Hemi 5.7 & Cummins
I have a gas (5.7 Hemi) and a diesel. The 2500 is a much larger truck with bigger wheels and tires and still gets better mileage than the 1500 Hemi. Fuel cost is about the same, 89 octane is roughly the same cost as diesel. 15,000 mile interval for oil change and fuel filter isn't bad, works out to about once a year for the diesel. The Hemi gets it's oil changed about every 9000 miles or whenever the truck tells me I need to change it. The fuel filters are a cost though, about $91 on Amazon for both. But once a year so no biggie. I like driving the diesel more though.
