6.7L Cummins
Hi, I'm new to the forum community. I am also a new owner of the RAM 3500 6.7L cummins. Since I purchased the truck (it only had 88 miles on it) I noticed it has a pinging sound when it changes gears and when I step on the pedal and the transmission kicks down into the passing gear. It isn't the old 5.9 clatter that is very easy to distinguish.

It is like the old gassers with a distributor that someone has advanced the timing on to get a little more power out of the engine (I've done it to my rigs in the past).

Does anyone else have this going on? can someone help me figure out what needs to be done to fix it? I'm sure if I go to the dealer they are going tell me it's normal and push me out the door! I haven't towed my trailer with it yet, hell I don't have my plates yet. :naughty:

Thanks for any input!
