98 2500 missing OD switch

I recently got a 98 2500 with an 8.0 and an auto transmission. The previous owner replaced the shift knob on the lever, the new knob doesnt have the overdrive switch.

Would it be easier to install a factory shift lever with the OD switch? Are there any step by steps for replacing the lever? Or place a toggle type switch to the dash to be able to disable my overdrive?

Download the fsm here on rf it has all the steps needed in it to change out the shift lever.

Thanks. I tried to download the manual but my IT peeps have the hosting site blocked.

I managed to find the od wire under the dash. It appears the guy just cut it flush when he changed out knobs. Hoping he didn't pull any trailers after he did that.
