After Market Radiator

Radiators leaking at plastic tank gasket and the fans not running. After doing some research and found a combo kit with all aluminum tanks Tig welded and a high flow fan with shroud and T-stat control. Has anyone else tried this set up yet. If so, any Pro's & con's on it? Thanks!

I am pretty sure that is none serviceable task on the gasket. At least I have never heard of it being done.

Radiator came in yesterday and it was nice to see the shipping on it didn't show signs of abuse. It was well packaged and the radiator looks to be extremely well made. The cap is 19lbs pressure instead of the factory 16lbs. Hopefully this will not cause issues with hoses, seals or gaskets. The boiling point of the fluid will be higher and as of now with the stock set up (except for the 180* T-stat), temps are between 180* to 190*, well below boiling points. I'll install it tomorrow and let you all know how it goes!

The radiator is in and fits like a glove! The relay kit that comes with it is not complete and does not come with the wiring directions. You can get them online but they leave some important information out. I found a tutorial online that cleared up the missing information. After some thought about it, I cut the factory connector off the old fan and soldered it to the new fan and it works fine. Not only that, I can control the set points with my tuner. I've ordered a 160* t-stat and will re-adjust the set points to see if I can lower the temp to a 180* average from a 190* average. The new radiator with shroud & fan is thicker and the old shroud will not fit. The old one lasted 10+ years @ 387,000+ miles. Time will tell how long this one will last.

Curious on how this pans out with a 160 t-stat. With the stock system if you set the fans on/off parameters under 190 with a 160 t-stat,the fan will pretty well run constantly,even going down the highway,as the gauge will still read roughly 185,even though the coolant is definitely cooler.

Not sure. In the tutorial he actually talks about that when you use their kit with t-stat. I posted the link above as suggested. I have one ordered and will post the findings later.
