Hey yall I was browsing the forum the other day and saw that the great people at Alpharex have released another version of projectors for the 09-18 trucks.

After finally getting my lights to work with Alfaobd they go and make me wanna spend more money. So I'm about to pull the trigger on these new lights and will be selling my Chrome G2's with all bulbs and ballasts.

Once i get them and install them I will give a thorough review. Just need to add the reason I am going to switch to the newer lights is not due to any issues from the G2's it is purely functional. I like how the new lights take one h7 bulb vs two for separate high and low beam.

If anyone is interested in my G2's send a message.

Thanks!

Lights came in and I installed them tonight. First impressions are damn Alpharex builds a great product. Cutoff is crisp and even. Right now I have my driver side as a 5000k HID bulb and my passenger's side is a 6000k HID bulb.

I'm trying to see which color temperature matches the DRL lights and I am leaning toward the 5000k. I tend to like the white light anyway. Being blind in one eye the difference between 6000k and 5000k is easily noticeable. I have a couple of pictures. I recommend these lights for anyone who wants a bi- halogen setup where the bulb is used for high and low with a mechanical shield.

Selling my Chrome G2's if anyone is interested shoot me a message.

Here are some daytime pics. Right now I'm debating Gtr Lighting Ultra 2 vs my innovited 35w 5000k HID bulbs. Headlight Revolution did a video showing that in a projector setup the GTR lighting ultra 2 is the best option for LUX. Any input would be much obliged!

Dammit..I hate you for posting this...your gonna cost me more $$$...LOL!
Those look great on the front and it doesn't help that I have the same grill. Next thing I know you'll post up night shots of how well down the road lighting is and a crisp cut off line.
So the Low beam projector has a shutter in it? and the Highs use a single H7?

I think I need even more pics. I love them so far.

I’m I think I like em more than the 1500 gen5 lights from morimoto and alpha Rex.

Any pics with the DRLs on etc?

You took a risk being what I’ve seen as the first on here to buy them and I think you lucked out because they look good on your truck.

I wonder how they’d look on delmonico red though...

Once it gets dark I'll get some output shots to show the down road output and crisp cutoff. Trust me I bought the G2's a month before @1500ram12 showed these on a post and I was like...damn time for some new lights...the bi-halogen function is the best and because it uses the same projector the light is more centered when you go from low to high.

@rwhjr no worries I like being the guinea pig especially when it works out for me!! I was hesitant with going with the black/chrome but they look great. My truck is a Harvest Edition which I haven't seen any on here yet. It uses a combination of chrome and black all over the truck so I guess that's why it looks good.

hey ugb4e, any advice from installing them? Got my order in yesterday. I've seen how to remove the headlights but looking at these looks like there's a extra wire and plug? (I've never removed the stock headlights so may be wrong).
